It was my mum's bday the other day and I wanted to make something special for her. I wanted her to have something that would remind her of me each time she looked at it. She loves red colour so what came to my mind was a flower, a rose. I found a pattern on youtube and made this:
It was supposed to be one big rose, but I think I used the wrong type of yarn and ended up with loads of a 'chain' to roll so I opted for two roses.

my new watercolours :)
I just couldn't resist it. I had to boast about my brand new fabulous professional watercolours set. What a wonderful bday gift. Thanks a bunch, Mum :)
the 100 day project....
yes, I've joined yet another project ;) It's the ants in my pants ... you know... Anyway, the project is hosted by the Great Discontent online magazine. You can find them here. The idea is to engage in 100 days of making. One can do virtually anything from dance moves or singing through photography, poetry to drawing, painting or knitting. I opted for CROCHET. It took me a while to make up my mind. I wanted it to be very 'doable' as I knew that I would have to do this 'thing' every day over 100 days. Paiting was so tempting, but I knew I wouldn't make it. I didn't want this project to make me feel upset or disatisfied, I wanted it to bring me joy and a feeling of accomplishment. A very good friend of mine hinted on knitting. I am a slow knitter, but crochet is something I don't struggle with. Great! I was so happy to have found this something, but then another question cropped up... what shall I make over the period of 100 days... and, again, my dear friend was of great help :) So, what am I up to, you will be asking yourself... I'm making a granny squares blanket! I found a beautiful pattern here.
I opted for a selection of bright colours that I will then join with black yarn.
I started my project on 26 April and here's what I've been up to so far:

Crocheting on my sofa in the evenings after work
Out and about...
The other day I was lucky to have a day off and crocheted by a nearby stream listening to the water flowing and birds singing. Bliss....
I publish my daily work on Instagram. You can find me here:
